EDCOR was one of the first companies to manufacture wireless microphones. Back in 1990 EDCOR sold their wireless division to a company called WISSCO. There are many reasons for EDCOR selling this division, but that would be another article. Since the sale, EDCOR still gets many people contacting us about our old wireless systems. It is nice to hear how people are happy with our old wireless systems and that they are still being used today. A good show of how when EDCOR Electronics builds a product, they build it to last. EDCOR has not kept in contact with WISSCO over the years and is not sure what their product line consists of or their policies.

With the advent of the online auction the number of calls and e-mail have increased. Here are answers to the most coming question asked.

Q: Do you have a manual or spec sheet?
A: When EDCOR sold their wireless division they transferred all of the manuals and specs over to WISSCO. EDCOR does not have any information on any of our old wireless systems.

Q: Do you repair the old wireless systems?
A: Sorry, but no. All repairs or modifications should be addressed to WISSCO.

Q: What kind of battery does my unit take?
A: That is a good question. EDCOR designed one of two types of batteries in the systems. The older unit used a battery called TR289. This battery was made by Duracell. They stopped making it some years back and there is, to my knowledge, no replacement unit. It was a 12.6 V battery a little bigger than a "C" cell battery and had connections like a 9 V battery, one on the top and one on the bottom of the battery. I have heard that WISSCO has modified some of the old wireless system to use a 9 V battery, but I have never verified this. I have seen some items up for auctions with a "D" cell or "C" cell battery pictured next to our units. Please do not be fooled, EDCOR never used "C" or "D" cell battery in the units.

Q: How do I contact WISSCO?
A: Here is the only contact information for WISSCO we have:
