I bought two of these to replace the stock output transformers in my S-5 electronics K-12G amp(heavily modified). After waiting 3 weeks my order was shipped took another 4 days to get to me, I'd say that's fairly quick for Edcor from what I've read about there usual wait times. After I unboxed them, I immediately noticed the smell of new paint, and the satisfyingly long leads, however, the transformers themselves weren't a whole lot bigger than the originals. I tested them using a pair of Pioneer SP-FS52 speakers 1st, then I tried my Grado SR80i headphones, connected with a simple L-pad resistor circuit to the speaker outs, I used a PS3 system as my source of music(of various genres). The difference, sound wise, between the stock units and these were difficult to tell with the speakers on low to medium volume, however, I did notice that during loud passages or at high volume, the music sounded noticeably clearer and spacious. Instruments remained distinctive on the soundstage instead of being sort of "mushed" together. With the headphones, however, the difference was noticeable off-the-bat. The sound stage widened significantly, individual instruments were "spaced out" better, less muddled, the sound was very clear and the music was even livelier than it had been before. But there was one trade-off: the hum got louder. This wasn't bad with the speakers, but it was only just acceptable with the headphones(I know the amp wasn't designed for headphones). To be fair, my speakers and headphones are low-fi, the differences should be obvious on mid-fi speakers(I consider that to be $1,000-$2,000 far a pair). These transformers have good value for the money, but I would recommend saving up to buy some 10 or 25watt CXPP's for excellent value, they have a wider freq resp and the bigger the transformer the better the sound.

great value for a low cost high performance low power amp.
I am using this output transformer in a series of low power amps using 12W6, 12AB5 and 12AQ5 tubes. The 12W6GT RCA tubes provides a very nice warm sound and about 8 clean Watts. Frequency response was tested and shows to be 25 to 28KHZ +/- 3db @ 1Watt. The other tubes test about the same. For a low cost entry level tube amp this transformer is a gem. I used the XPWR207-120 power transformer and a XC63-1H-200ma choke to provide a very clean 315VDC and wired the two 9VAC windings in series for 18VAC @ 3.5A rectified to 12VDC for the filiments. I used a separate power supply to locate it away from the two Mini-mono blocks. Using 12AT7 's for input and phase splitter I have an all US made NOS tube amps with US made Iron. A simple design with a high gain input allows use with MP3 players headphone outputs as well as normal 1.5V audio inputs. These amps are a great value and excellent performance thanks to these transformers.

Excellent lower power Guitar Amp OT
I use this (and the 16 Ohm version) in my 6K6GT powered guitar amps with great success. They are a perfect match for such a power stage. Great tone.
