I purchased Edcor transformers for all of my amp projects for many years.
Quality VS price? Edcor satisfy me every direction.
Not even single transformer failed in the past.
I'm so happy and confidence to using Edcor transformers.

I needed to replace the power transformer in my Pignose G60VR guitar tube amp. This worked perfectly. Not quite a perfect fit because the 6.3V is not center tapped like the original. But I got around this by generating a center tap with a resistive divider off the secondary and just tying the midpoint to ground.

Provides more output than the Hammond 1760H model even though it's the same physical size and rating. I easily got 21w into 8 ohms from the EDCOR while the Hammond pooped out at 18w. You can feel the weight difference, too, so there's evidently more "iron" in the EDCOR.
I needed the wires to come out on the bottom side rather than the top as shown and it was easy to simply pry the tabs on the metal strap casing, flip the transformer over and re-crimp the tabs. Just what I needed.
If I could have one wish it would be that it also had a 16 ohm tap on the output. However, this is not a deal breaker because even without it I could still get 14w output into 16 ohms with a pair of 6V6s or EL84s. I could also get 18w into 4 ohms with the single output winding.

I have used the XPWR178 in two guitar amp builds, a 50W Hiwatt-style amp (2xEL34) and a 50W Dumble ODS-style amp (2x6L6). It does everything I need it to do. Voltages are spot on. In the Dumble-style amp, I used the 5v tap for the relay circuits. No need for a separate 5v transformer. Works perfectly.

The core is too big. We would prefer to have more Ico to keep the same regulation but with smaller size. The circuit where we will use it is not very sensitive to stray magnetic fields.
Anyway we solved the problem with a toroid.
Thank you for your interest to improve your products.

If endbells were painted black I would not have to buy these additional stickers!

Used a pair of these in a 6GK6 PP circuit. These are definitely underrated! Good low end. Better low end then equivalent SE xfmrs! You will not be disappointed!

I used this transformer as a ground loop isolator to interface a digital guitar rig with a traditional tube amplifier. I am super impressed with the 20Hz-20kHz response and ultra low distortion.
After trimming the leads a tiny bit ..it fits inside a small 1590a enclosure. You can see it in the top right of the included image.

This is a beautiful plate transformer and perfect for the rebuild of a power supply for one of my Amateur transmitters. It had the voltages and currents I needed and an extra winding even.......
Not cheap, but worth the money in my estimation. The time from order to delivery was less than that advertised. Was well packed and I couldn't be happier.

Edcor transformers are simply the best. I have been using them for years. With this one there was a flaw in the build of it though. But Edcor customer support had me send it back and they built me a new one super fast and shipped it right away. As expected it preforms perfectly.

I bought a pair of these for an audio amp I’m building. Even though they build them to order, they somehow built one 4 ohm and one 8 ohm trans. I contacted Edcor and they gave me an RMA immediately. They put the second transformer on a hot-rush, which I appreciated. Got the new replacement in only a few days. So great customer service. The only bummer is that they rushed so hard on that second transformer that they forgot to put the sticker on it. No biggie. I’ll just take the other one off. All good.

These guys did a great job designing this power transformer for me. Works and sounds great in the 35-ish watt guitar amps I'm building. Small enough to fit nicely in a compact combo cab. I'm very happy with it.

I used these for a passive color box project, and am very happy with the way the device sounds. I was not particularly familiar with this brand prior to the project and I am sure that I will be using these again. Out of all of the color boxes that I have built, this one may be the most transparent so far.
