Description
Power and audio output transformers for the "PoddWatt: 5751 SRP / (6BQ5) Push-Pull (class A) Tube Amplifier" by Bruce Heran of OddWatt Audio.
The "PoddWatt: 5751 SRP / (6BQ5) Push-Pull (class A) Tube Amplifier"
A ultra linear class A push-pull valve amplifier using EL84 (6BQ5) tubes designed by Bruce Heran of OddWatt Audio. For more information and schematics see "PoddWatt: 5751 SRPP / EL84 (6BQ5) Push-Pull (class-A) Tube Amp" the page on the diyAudioProjects.com.
Power Transformer
The XPWR236 (EM0719) power transformer was specially designed and built for OddWatt Audio. It has been released to be openly sold. It is a 120V, 60Hz. or 240V, 50/60Hz. line to 360V (180-0-180) at 250mA center tapped and 12V (6-0-6) at 2A center tapped.
Audio Output Transformers
The amplifier uses two GXPP10-10K audio output transformers. Theses are a 10W, push-pull tube output transformer for 10K Ohms input impedance to 4, 6, 8, or 16 Ohms output impedance.
Magnet Wire
All units are wound with the finest virgin copper magnet wire. All windings use heavy insulated wire to provide excellent manufacturing yield, lower customer cost and superior life.
The Core
EDCOR uses the finest M6 line grain oriented steel cores. Each unit is hand stacked to assure at least 92% stack.
The Bobbin
Injection molded Nylon 6/6 with the addition of 30%-35% glass fibers. The addition of glass fibers allows a higher heat deflection temperature and it brings the material to a class HB UL temperature classification.
Termination
The terminations are UL1015 color coded lead wire.
Mounting
These transformers comes with steel end bells for mounting with the use of screws. See dimensional drawings on product pages.
